We both made it to our respective destinations, although Terri, Toby and Ashley took quite a bit longer to get to Geneva than it took me to get to the Paw Paw, Michigan area. All went well on their trip and the only issue they experienced was too much luggage…so much so that it would not all fit in the rental car, so Terri took the Shuttle to the hotel just so they could get all the stuff there. That’s what happens when you have car seats, strollers, etc., etc. FaceTime has proven valuable to us once again, as we get to tag up with each other every day, keeping in mind the 6 hour time difference. Toby is at the stage that he either eats like a horse, or doesn’t…oh to be able to have the eating habits of a two-year old again! He apparently totally devoured this hot dog below that is almost as big as he is:
Terri and Toby have been travelling on foot during the week, and on the weekends Ashley is able to join them to explore the area further. One of Ashley’s work mates has horses near Geneva, and Toby really enjoyed that as you can tell from his smile.
Here are some other shots of their travels:
I spent the week at the home of some dear friends helping out with an auction they were having. I was able to park in the yard with 30 AMP hookups. The weather was storybook fall perfect! Sun every day, highs in the 70’s and lows in the 50’s. The trees are starting to change in Michigan and other Northerly states. It was really great to be outside working every day. It was a step back in time to my youth and teen years. Terri and I have not spent a fall in this part of the country since 1979. I had smiles just as big as Toby’s every day, as I had the opportunity to operate some of the finest restored tractors I’ve ever seen.
It was a fantastic week, and I will be forever blessed by being able to spend time with a great family. I am off to the Ann Arbor, MI area to visit my brother and his family.
