All three above are contributed by Funky W’s dictionary. My definition of stuff: Things you own that you either wonder why you have them or may actually need them, or something that your dead Aunt (insert name here) gave you two decades ago, and you are afraid you may stir her out of her grave if you threw it away, sold it or gave it away.
We are definitely dealing with stuff this week. We downsized a lot before we hit the road in Sep, but we are now dealing with the potential heart-wrenchers of stuff. Should it stay? Should it go? Will I even remember I had this three or four years from now? How much is a storage unit payment per month worth at the price I am paying compared to my stuff that I may not remember tomorrow? Uggggh….all questions asked by anyone downsizing, or for sure anyone leaping into the full-time RV life. I’ve read numerous blog entries on this very subject, and know that everyone goes through these “separation issues.”
In reality, all is good. We found a storage unit in Orlando that is close to our daughter and son-in-law that is twice the space for the same price we are paying here on the coast. We will get a rental truck this weekend, clear out the storage unit and house here, and set up shop there. Things have been selling as well. The CR-V and the kayaks both sold today. We also have given and/or sold many items to relatives/friends/neighbors. There is still a lot that we would rather not hang onto, so we are hoping some more of our friends stop by to shop at Ron and Terri’s boutique.
The Coach goes in for service tomorrow, and if all goes well, we will have it back next Wed so we can load it for the long haul. One of our biggest challenges right now is figuring out how to get the 660 pound safe out of the house. We will figure it out. Here are some shots of the past few days:
Hopefully my report later in the week will show more progress. The stress mounts as the closing nears. Gotta get this place cleared and cleaned and ready for the new owner!
Until next time!! I hope to have some good news to report on the progress of the issues that have been nagging us on the Coach.
